..Many potential customers ask us exactly what makes our kits better than the competitions'. Well, there are several factors! First and foremost, check out what goes into the production of each of our hand laid kits:
First layer is a gray sandable gelcoat, followed by 2 layers of 2oz chop strand fiberglass matt (that is the first and second layer using approx 10 gallons of resin. After that the body gets 2 additional layers of 2 oz fiberglass matt using approx 10 gal of resin. Finally 1-2 layers of fiberglass cormat is added for superior stiffining properties with 10 more gallons of resin. The resin we use is a high quality hand laminated resin (Owens Corning), the fiberglass matt we use is also top of the line (PPG Industries) and on top of that a complete steel structural tube frame is bonded into the bodyshell with several layers of matt and cloth. Then the underside is painted with a smooth gelcoat finish. By far the thickest, strongest, cleanest most structurally sound bodyshell available!
