Squadron News Bulletin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are celebrating our 50th year of service to our community. Your Bridge and Executive Committees have worked hard to offer both a variety and a number of projects over the next few months to help us celebrate this significant milestone. To this end, along with our typical training we are scheduling three General Membership Meetings, the annual Christmas Supper/Dance, and three separate Rendezvous opportunities.

The three General Membership Meetings are scheduled at the Travelodge Silver Bridge Inn in Duncan for the usual second Wednesday in each of October, January, and March.

1)        Oct. 14 – This event has been changed to a regular Bridge Meeting at the MBYC at 1900 hrs.

2)        Jan. 13 – The fall class Graduation Ceremonies and the pledging of new members will follow a short bridge meeting at the Maple Bay Rowing Club. This is an excellent occasion to meet your bridge and staff advisors. There will also be social with refreshments to follow.

3)        Mar. 10 – The evening will focus on member training opportunities and include local and Squadron personnel offering short presentations on a variety of subjects that are covered in the squadron advanced and elective courses. Information tables will feature course materials, course outlines, and sign-up sheets for your perusal.

The very successful pot luck Christmas Dinner /Dance will again be held Nov. 28 at the Glenora Hall. Watch for further announcements on the website for this celebration. Cost is $12.50/ person plus your contribution of a veggie or dessert dish.

The three Rendezvous’ opportunities are:

1)        Sept. 26 -“Pink to the Gills”  CANCELLED

Call Russ Jenkins at 250-715-6166 for more information.

2)        Oct 10 to12 Thanksgiving weekend at Todd Inlet. Paul Richards is going and has agreed to co-host this with Holly Fowler and they will be seeking support.

Call Paul at 250-746-8612 or Holly at 250-748-8994 for more details or to sign-up.

3)        May 7 to 9 - The immensely popular 2nd Annual Mother’s Day Pig Roast and Rendezvous program will include spring Graduation Ceremonies and member’s awards night.
